LA LIVE : Questions about public transportation?

Hi! Me and my sister 20 years old from Poland will go for vacation in Los Angeles..We want to go to grammy museum/nokia theatre/staples center. We will live near Hollywood/western subway .We searched how to go to LA LIVE and we found this

Take the Red Line towards 7th St/Metro Center Station
2. Change at 7th St/Metro Center Station to Blue Line towards Long Beach or Expo Line towards Culver City
Exit Pico Station
Walk West one block on Pico Blvd.
Go North/right on Figueroa St., L.A. LIVE is 2 blocks on the left

OR

Take the Red Line towards 7th St/Metro Center Station
Exit 7th St/Metro Center Station
Walk West to Figueroa St.
Go South/left on Figueroa St., L.A. LIVE is 4 blocks on the right

Is this right?

I ask about LA LIVE cause i know that grammy museum, staples center and nokia theater are there.

My main question is
Is the nokia theater ,staples center, grammy museum near each other or its kinda far away from each other? do i need to take different directions for each one?are they located together in the same place?

Is this hard to find the street(road) while walking ??

La live is like a mall? i mean is there restaurants cinemas etc?

Sorry for the questions…some may be stupid but we are alone in la ,we dont know anyone and your help would be sooo helpful!
I will rate 5 stars for your asnwer cause i ask for a lot public skate parks california

Thank you in advance!

The Grammy Museum, Nokia Theatre are about a block away (maybe 5 restaurants are in between them) from each other, and Staples is across the street from the Nokia Theatre. They are all very close to each other.

LA Live is an open area with an open plaza, with nice restaurants and cinemas, and also Club Nokia, a smaller venue than the Nokia Theatre (which is very nice, one of my favorite). During the winter there is ice skating in the open plaza. LA Live is quite safe, but you don’t want to take public transportation after dark in the area, and be careful whenever you’re on public transportation. It’s not as bad as the zillion pickpockets on the Paris subway, but ocasionally there can be crime.

Get a good travel guide with lots of photographs, that will help you a lot.

Remember to check public transportation routes right before you get here, as it is possible the bus schedules can change. Also, there are different schedules depending on the time and day you travel. Look at Google maps for public transportation if you’ve only been using metro.net because it’s easier to see on their map.

Fun places to go in Downtown LA, these are all walkable distances from each other. They are north of LA Live, near Union Station.

These 3, plus probably some of the others, you can see in one day.

Olvera Street http://www.calleolvera.com

Also, close by and walkable, mostly on/near Grand Ave:
Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels http://www.olacathedral.org
Walt Disney Concert Hall http://www.laphil.com
MOCA Museum http://moca.org (2 in downtown LA)
Grand Park http://grandpark.lacounty.gov
Many free concerts during the summer and a few during the winter – Grand Performances at California Plaza (350 S. Grand Ave, 90071): http://www.grandperformances.org

Enjoy!

The directions are correct to take Metro red line train. The first is quicker if you make the connection quickly to the blue line and puts you closer to LA Live. Either route will work and usually there are maps inside the station that will show you surrounding streets. Otherwise, look for a Metro station employee to ask which direction to get to LA Live.

It is not difficult to find the streets listed in the directions; Pico and Figueroa are two main streets in downtown. LA Live is an entertainment center which includes the Staples Center, Nokia Theater, Grammy Museum as well as restaurants, a movie multiplex theater, hotels, and shops – all in the same place.

No need to apologize for seeking information. Have fun and enjoy Los Angeles.
